Union Canal First Engineering and Mowlem carried out this challenging project to build a railway under-bridge on the main Glasgow-Edinburgh rail line, to allow the extended Union Canal to be taken under the rail line and into a tunnel under the Antonine Wall before reaching the Wheel boatlift. Using weekend track possessions only, work started on this bridge in April 1999 and was completed in September 1999.
