Construction Progress at April 2001

Balfour Beatty were the contractors for this project; detailed designs were by Fairhurst & Partners. The original bridge over Lock 8 has been replaced by a new bridge and a new lock has been built to the west of the original lock. Structural work was completed in Autumn 2000. Landscaping and installation of lockgates was completed in April 2001.
