Grangemouth Link, Grangemouth - Forth & Clyde Canal

Construction progress at February 2001

Balfour Beatty undertook the contract for this section which involves restoring the connection between the Forth & Clyde Canal and the River Carron at Grangemouth by cutting 800 metres of new canal and building both a sea lock and an inland lock. In addition, the River Carron was dredged to improve navigability. Work started in spring 2000 and was completed in May 2001.
