Forth and Clyde Canal
To carry out this project, Mowlem excavated the buried bridge abutments and built a new deck on top. The infill below the bridge was removed and new retaining walls built to allow the canal to flow freely again. Carl Bro were the designers.
The bridge was officially opened on 20 May 2000 at a ceremony attended by hundreds of people and a flotilla of canal boats.
