Forth and Clyde Canal This projet to reconstruct Lock 36, build a road bridge and renew the footbridge, was undertaken by Morrison Construction Ltd to designs by the Babtie Group. Work started on site in March 1999 and was completed in May 2000. The infilled Lock 36 has been excavated, the walls refurbished and new lock gates fitted.
